Martin Silverman (1950 - ) printmaker, illustrator and book designer is a native New Yorker who attended the High School of Music and Art, was awarded a scholarship to the Philadelphia College of Art and continued his printmaking studies at Pratt Graphic Art Center in Manhattan.  His work resides in the permanent collections of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the NY Public Library Print Collection, the Hudson River Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Elath, Isreal and several corporate collections including IBM.

Note says a French duplicate of one belongs to Katherine the Great of Russia.

Celebrated for his free-flowing, improvisatory plays, short stories and novels -- among them "The Time of Your Life", "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze" and The Human Comedy-- the Armenian-American writer (1908-1981) was also an original amd accomplished visual artist.  During the writer's lifetime, however, he neither sold nor exhibited his watercolors and drawings.  Saroyan was influenced by Chinese brush painting, the calligraphic works of Mark Tobey, and the expressionist go-for-broke daring of Jackson Pollock.  Saroyan's abstractions combine his powerful sense of form with a willingness to let the moment unfold its own meaning, much as is his best writing

Rosalind Mae Guggenheim, better known as Jane Burr, was born in Cleburne, Texas, December 27, 1882, the daughter of Bertha Kaufman and Leopold Guggenheim. She married Horatio G. Winslow in 1911 and they divorced in 1925. During the 1910s and 20s, she resided in New York City and was part of the Greenwich Village crowd of radicals, artists, and writers. She wrote articles on women's rights, marriage, dress reform, birth control, and changing sexual attitudes. In 1922 she traveled around the world studying and writing articles about the condition of women for United Press. In London she caused a stir by wearing her famous "knickerbockers." Jane Burr published a number of novels, poems and plays. Some of her better known works include City Dust (1917), The Glorious Hope (1918), The Passionate Spectator (1921), Marble and Mud (1935), The Queen is Dead (1938), and Fourteen Radio Plays (1945). Beginning in the 1940s she lived in Woodstock, New York where she opened her farmhouse as an inn for writers and ran an antique shop from her barn. Jane Burr died in 1958.

In the first round of this heavyweight championship fight On September 23, 1952, challenger Rocky Marciano, a 3-1 underdog, had been knocked down by then-champ "Jersey" Joe Walcott. In the sixth round Marciano suffered blurred vision from a severe cut over his right eye. Indeed, during the entire bout Marciano seemed willing to absorb head shots from Walcott in order to administer what became his trademark strategy: "kill the body and the head will die." This strategy paid off at 2:05 of the thirteenth round, when, arms low to protect his now pulverized body, the dead-tired Walcott walked forward hoping to clinch and survive the round. This was the first title fight and after this win, Marciano would never look back as champ.

Some nodules are slightly chipped, others show fractures and white oxidation. Needs a careful buffing.

Appears to be images of a fatal aircrash.  The aircraft crashed during an intense rainstorm into dense woods 6.5 miles south of the Nashville airport, while on a return trip from Batesville Arkansas. It took searchers 2 days to find the wreckage. Country western singer Jim Reeves, 40, and his manager, Dean Manuel were killed. Reeves was piloting the plane and was 2 minutes from touchdown when he apparently lost visual reference with the ground and experienced spatial disorientation. Pilot error. VFR flight into adverse weather conditions.

William Bart "Bill" Saxbe (/ˈsæks.biː/; June 24, 1916 – August 24, 2010) was an American politician affiliated with the Republican Party, who served as a U.S. Senator for Ohio, and was the Attorney General for Presidents Richard M. Nixon and Gerald R. Ford, and as the U.S. Ambassador to India.

At the time of his death, Saxbe was an oldest living Republican Senator and the second-oldest living Senator overall (after Harry F. Byrd Jr. of Virginia).
