"The New York Times" reported that on July 25, 1938, "Babe Ruth drew 11,724 spectators tonight to Hawkins Stadium. It was the biggest crowd ever to see a ball game in the State capital. Babe came through, too, with a blow over the right-field fence in the first inning for his first homer since quitting baseball as a player three years ago." The Albany Senators defeated the Dodgers 7-6. On that day, the day he hit his "715th" home run,
