Philip Edward Chillman (1841-1915) Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is known for still life landscape painting.  Exhibited in the Omaha Exposition,  Chicago Art Institute, Art Club (Phila.); Academy of Fine Arts (Phila.), etc.

Joseph Hirsch (1910–1981) was an American painter, illustrator, muralist and teacher. Social commentary was the backbone of Hirsch's art, especially works depicting civic corruption and racial injustice. His works are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and many other museums.  During World War II, his image of a smiling and waving soldier shipping out, Till We Meet Again (1942), was the most popular War Bond poster.  In 1942–1943, he was embedded as an artist/war correspondent with naval airmen in Florida, then with the U.S. Navy Medical Corps in the South Pacific. In 1944, he was embedded with the U.S. Army Medical Corps in North Africa and Italy. Some of his most powerful war paintings depict wounded soldiers being removed from the battlefield.

Falaka Armide Yimer (1942  Ethiopia )earned a diploma at the Addis Ababa School of Fine Arts and also holds a Masters in Fine Arts from Howard University. Primarily known as a printmaker, Yimer has been featured in several individual exhibitions since the 1979s, including the Campbelltown City Bicentennial Art Gallery (2001); London's Savannah Gallery (1993); Duke Ellington School of Arts (1987), Noa Gallery (1979) and Market 5 Gallery (1979) in Washington, DC; and Africa Creates '72 in New York (1972). In addition, the artist has participated in many group exhibitions in London, Italy, Ethiopia, and the Washington DC metro area. Since 2001, Yimer has lived and worked in New South Wales, Australia.

Utagawa Yoshiiku (歌川 芳幾, 1833 – 6 February 1904), also known as or Ochiai Yoshiiku (落合 芳幾), was a Japanese artist of the Utagawa school. Yoshiiku's earliest works were portraits of actors, beauties, and warriors. He later followed Kuniyoshi into making satirical and humorous pieces, and became the leading name in the field after Kuniyosh's death in 1861.

Nestor Garcia Leynes, Sr (1922 – 2016) was a Filipino realist painter. Leynes is regarded as one of the leaders of the "Magic Realist" movement of the Philippines. He was born in Santa Cruz, Manila.

Severn Teackle Wallis" (1816-1894) Wallis was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and attended St. Mary's College (Baltimore), graduating in 1832. He went on to study law and passed the bar exam in 1837. In 1861, he was elected to the House of Delegates in the Maryland General Assembly. Initially a member of the Whig party, he became a Democrat by the Civil War and was opposed to the war as well as secession.

Wallis was one of several Maryland legislators arrested for refusing to take an oath supporting the union. He was imprisoned at Fort McHenry from September 1861 to November 1862, never charged, and never told why he was imprisoned. A fellow prisoner, Henry Mactier Warfield, later named his youngest son, Teackle Wallis Warfield, in honor of his friend. The son later named his daughter Bessie Wallis Warfield, better known as Wallis Simpson, who went on to become the Duchess of Windsor. Upon his release, he left politics and returned to private practice. Wallis is memorialized as a statue near the Washington Monument in Mount Vernon and at the Circuit Court of Baltimore City. He is buried in Green Mount Cemetery in Baltimore.

Danny Garcia (1929 - 2012). Monterey, California started his Garcia Gallery with his wife Carmen in the 1950s as a one-room operation in Carmel.  Two years of combat service on a Navy destroyer during the Korean War left an imprint on his renderings of landscapes and urban scenes and his work ranges in style from realism to abstraction. His paintings are in the permanent collections of the Kaiser Center Art Gallery in Oakland, the Museum of Art in Monroe, La., and the Museum of Natural History and Art in Holyoke, Mass. Notable past private collectors who have acquired his work include Princess Margaret, Greer Garson and Frank Sinatra.

Rodolfo Paras Perez (Phillipines 1934) painter, printmaker, and art critic and art historian. He held his first solo exhibit at the Luz Gallery in 1962 and international printmaking exhibitions in Geneva, Cracow, and Florence. Among his awards from the AAP Annual Competitions were: First Prizes for “The Kiss” in 1962 and “Ethereal Glow in 1963. He did a series of woodcut prints illustrating Francisco Baltazar’s “Florante at Laura.” He won the Gold Medal at the II Internazional della Grafica in 1969. Among the scholarly books and publications he has written are those on Dominator Castañeda, Galo B. Campo, Vicente Manansala, Sanso, Romeo Tabuena, Fernando Zobel, Guillemo Tolentino and Edades and the Thirteen Moderns.

Elton Bennett 1910 –1974) was a 20th-century American artist who grew up and worked on the Washington Coast, attended art school at the age of 36, and by 1956 became a full-time artist making serigraphs or silkscreen prints. He continued working until his death with his wife in 1974 in a commercial plane crash.
